After clicking the checkbox for forum tracking and updating the user settings, when you try to go back to user settings again you get an error, that user settings are unavailable.  The event viewer shows this:

If the checkbox is not checked then you can go into my settings as many times as desired, but if the checkbox is checked you cannot go back in.

Any ideas?

Looks like a problem w/ multi-portal usage and user accounts that span across multiple portals. This can also happen if multiple instances of the module are used in the same portal. This is a known issue for versions before 4.4.2 (not yet released).
