Is it possible to have a different forum on each page over a large number of pages.  (Hundreds or thousands?)

This is a feature of the coming version.

And another crucial question for us.  Can we dynamically create new forums on the fly?  Imagine a site where users input their favorite celebrity.  We would want to creat a new page for each new celebrity and have a separate forum to discuss that celebrity on the page.  Can this be done?  Is there a way to generate a forum in code, or does one need to manually confiugure each forum as an admin?
Thanks.

I personally think having multiple forums on a single site is not the best way to handle things. You can create a single forum module and copy only groups to other pages within the same site. I am pretty sure, when you get over 1k forums, you are going to have some performance issues. I think from a performance perspective 4.4.3 is pretty good and any other forum system with that many forums will have some serious performance issues as well.

You can dynamically create forums on the fly if you want to, you just have to learn the public methods that are used in the forum module to do this and pass in some parameters to handle the required fields.

Thanks for the heads up on various issues.

Can you explain what it means to "copy only groups to other pages"?  Our main concern is that each subject area page (each celebrity page in our example) *appear* to have it's own forum; we don't care what the underlying mechanism would be.  Could you explain a bit what copying groups is and how it would work.  And could it be done dynamically in code.  Each user can input subject areas and we want to automatically generate a page for each one on the fly and also automatically add a separate forum for each new subject area.

It sounds like this might be doable with your idea.

Thanks.
