My SMTP server requires authentication and the “From” field must match the username. I entered my SMTP configuration on the Host Settings screen and user registration-confirmation emails and password-reminder emails are working correctly. Here is the problem - Forum notification emails produce the error “The transport failed to connect to the server”, which I see on the Event Viewer screen, and of course the notification is not received. My Forum notification settings are under [1] below. Any suggestions on how to correct this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ethan

The Host user and Portal-Admin user email addresses are both set to the address my SMTP server expects.

Email Notification:                           checked
Show Sender Address:                  un-checked
Email Format:                                  HTML
Email Template:                              DNNSilver
Automated Address:                      The email address my SMTP server expects (same as host SMTP settings)
