Unless I overlooked a forum-wide 'enable poll' check-box, is it safe to assume that we must must go in and edit each forum to enable polls? If so, perhaps consider implementing a bulk 'enable poll' feature for those sites with a myriad of different forums than number in the 100s?  :)

..and one follow-up to polls:

Is it possible to edit the language to the 'Thread Status' drop-down to, say, "Add Poll?" and make the options a simple yes/no where yes= the current 'poll' option? (if that makes sense). Given that I have no need for resolved, unresolved, informative, this would make adding a poll a little more intuitive.

For example: 1.) Change 'Thread Status' to read 'Add Poll?' 2.) Reword "(None Specified)" to "No" so it doesn't fire 3.) Remove "Unresolved, Resolved, Informative" options from the list. 4.)  Change "Poll" to "Yes"

That would would kick major DNN arse for me.

PS...the polls are perfect, so far as I can see from playing around with them for a few...well-done, Chris. Forums and polls made my world go 'round, so I appreciate the work that went into implementing this new feature.  Awesome.

No, there is no bulk enable polls option. Most likely, there will not be one in the future either.

You don't need to have thread status enabled for polls, that is why you don't see "Add Polls". If you turn off thread status and enable polls, you will see that it works just fine and you never see the thread status ddl in the UI. Because of this, we will not change anything like your example above.

I clicked enabled polls for all 83 forums, so that one is moot. :)

Thanks for the lead on the thread status. Given that I had 'thread status' on and the add poll option was included in the drop-down options, I assumed that's where you would have to select poll; since your post, I disabled thread status and it, as you know, displays the add poll feature at the bottom of every new post window.

I do like this better than my work around and didn't know it would render like this in the adsense of the thread status feature...very nice.

It seemed like having seperation of thread status and polls was the right think to do at design time. It also made sense to me that a poll is really a thread status, so I had to find a way to make them work together, yet independent of one another if need be. If you enable thread status and not polls, you shouldn't see the Poll thread status.
