Heya!

We've been using dotnetnuke for our group's site for a fair while now, and we recently obtained the most recent forums release.  It seems now that all of my users have had their forum avatars 'broken' essentially.  What should be a picture shows up as a white box with a red X in the middle.  This happens on mine (admin) and also folks of the 'lower' access levels.

I'm sure there's a setting in there somewhere I'm missing, but I haven't for the life of me a clue where it is.

I thought maybe it had to do with the forum avatar folder path, but, when I attempted to put a new avatar (brand new, uploaded and within image parameters set in the avatar management area of the forum settings) ... it shows up for about a minute, and then it reverts back to the white box with a red X.

Any thoughts?

Have you make the Avatar settings after update, and enable it in the Admin section of configuration?  There was change for the Avatars in the last version, the gallery module is not longer integreat in the Forum.  Perhabst you have to move then the files from the gallery\forum\...avatar folders to the forum\...avatar folders.

Regards

Matthias

That works wonders.  Was an oversight on my part as well.  We just tried a brand new instance of it, and all of the images have fixed itself.

Muchly appreciative! thanks!

One more question for you though.  I looked at the SQL on the lists bug that seems to be floating around ... and am wondering if it applies to our new problem.  When trying to add a forum to a new instance of the module on a seperate page, we get an error of: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." ...

This error occurs when attempting to add a new forum to the existing default forum group "General". We also tried creating a new Group and adding a forum to that, but the error comes up the same.

Will tthe SQL as posted in some of the other 'bug fixing' threads be of help for this?

For your new issue, I need more information about your Database.  What SQL Server Version, used standard DatabaseOwner or other, used objectQualifier?

Thanks

Matthias
