Hi all, Im using the latest version of DNN (04.08.00) and have tested my email seteup in host settings ok. I have also set the "from" address in the forum setup the same as the host address email as I know sometimes that is a problem as well. When I click report post, I get no notifications by email. Any breadcrumbs anyone? Thanks C

Hi,

have you enabled the E-Mail settings in Forum Admin, and in the Scheduler the two Forum Notification tasks?

Regards

Matthias

ok I get a duh there.. I found the schedule in the host menu. I also found out that it was in fact sending notifications, but not to the site administrator but to a moderator/administrator and I have been thru site and forum menus until Im blue trying to find where to set the email to send the notifications to. The only option I see in the forum setup is "From Address" and in the site settings the email is admin@site.com while report posts notifications are being sent to a completely different email address.

Settings needed for E-Mail Modartion Mails:

First in Host - Schedule

  • enable DotNetNuke.Forum.StartEmailQueuedTasks, DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum
  • enable DotnetNuke.Forum.CleanupEmailQueuedTasks, DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum

2nd in Forum Adminministartion

  • Go to Email Settings
  • enable "Enable Notifications"  and if you like "Enable Edit Emails", also setup The Forum Adress and Email Display Name in General Email Settings
  • Enable "Enable Email Queue Task" in Advenced Email Settings

3rd in Forum Users

  • Go to the User Setting of the Users that will have Moderation permissions and enable the "Enable Moderator Emails" in User Settings.

I preporpose that those are correctly adjusted SMTP settings for the host.

Regards

Matthias
