First off I'd like to say Thank you to Team Forum for all your hard work, just installed the latest version and what an improvement over the last. Not that the last was bad or anything but just a big improvement as far as features, customization and issues resolved.
I noticed the anon posting is now locked, pinned and done. Just wanted to throw something out there. It seems the people that do want this anonymous posting fall into a couple categories. The ones that want to be anonymous when posting, reasons could be endless. Others who just want people to be able to post without the tedius registration process, (don't care if it's anonymous or not), just want people who browse to the site to be able to hit reply to a post. I know it's happened to me a lot when I've been googling for a coding issue and I've come across a post that has has only one question with no replies. I happen to know the answer the guy/gal is looking for and I wish I could just type it in and go along my way to find what I was looking for in the first place. But.... you need to register first. So, the persons question goes unanswered. It's not that I'm lazy, but like you, everyone only has so much free time. This happens a lot and I'm sure it's happenned to a lot of people who read this. It's probably happened to people visiting my forums too. I don't really blame them, registering is sometimes a pain if you just want to help out or add a quick comment and be on your way. It would be nice option to have in certain situations.
I'm really not sure of this but does DNN have a true Unanthenticated User account? Or is this just a default null option when the current visitor doesn't fall into any other account. I guess what I'm trying to ask is if a module, such as the forum module, can query the core to find out if a user is a member of the unauthenticated users account as easily as you can find out if the user is a member of the registered users account? Or would this be going about it all wrong.
Anyway.. keep up the great work, I do appreciate the time you've put into this module. It's great!
