I have migrated my users from some custom tables from an old  version of DNN into a new version of DNN 3.2.2.

I did my own script that did all the migration.

When I login to the site, I am unable to access the Forums, when I go to the Forums Users, I can see no forum user, as if the migrated users were not set to be forum users.

Are the forum users different from the site users?

Thanks,

Forum users are dynamically added the first time they hit the forum page.

Well, let me tell you the whole story:

I did add a new role called Old-Users role. Every migrated user I assigned him/her the Old-Users role. Once the user logs in, he/she is supposed to fill a profile page, once they fill the profile page, the Old-Users role will be deleted and the Registered Users is being assigned to them, to be able to access the portal succeffully.

So now, once the user fills his/her profile, and logs in again to the portal, and visits the Forum page, I am getting an exception. when I visit as a host user the Forum Users, I can find no record there.

Should I link the users in the portal to the users of the forum?

Thanks

In DNN3 the Membership application block from MS was implemented, so I suspect that you are only adding the users to the DNN tables. They need to be in synch with those from the aspnet Membership AB. You do not need to do anything with the forum module tables, this should be automatic as I said in the post above.

Is that you Nestor? How are you doing.

When i migrated my users, I did add them to users and aspnet_ tables. I created a new object where I assigned values to the object itself and object.Membership, object.Profile, and add the user, the system will automatically add the user to both tables.

But now the forums is not seeing any user.

thanks
