Does the DotNetNuke web site run the 4.8.2 release version of the DNN Forum module?

I often experience difficulties - such as slow performance, slow interaction, even posts that I attempt to post but then get lost - with the current Forums on the current DotNetNuke web site.

Is this particular to me? Or do other people have problems as well?

Is the Core Team working on the Forum module investigating how to improve performance?

Or is it related to inadequate hardware support hosting the DotNetNuke web site in general?

Curious to hear from the Core Team what their thoughts or comments regarding these issues..

Thanks,

CT

CT,

DotNetNuke.com is currently still running on a single dedicated machine (with database on a separate server), which might cause issues during "rush hours". This shall be replaced by a web farm, besides the Forums project team is working on an enhanced module version with improved performance as well.

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

Thanks for info.

I've been trying to discern what I can just from simple use of the forum (ie, without doing development style analysis, but instead just simple observation of performance).

What I've noticed is that page display really drrraaagggsss slowly when the page display attempts to download and display whatever from the SourceForge.net website - for example display of a SourceForge icon is enough to do it!!!! What that implies is the following:

1) The slow response of the SourceForge website is contributing to the problem.

2) Caching, either on the DotNetNuke web site or locally for my web brownser when accessing the DotNetNuke website, does NOT seem to be working for items such as icons from 3rd party websites such as SourceForge.

Hope this information is helpful to you.
