Hello Forum Project Team.
I'm one of many looking for a forum to integrate with other modules. This is something I've been looking for, for a loooong time. If you trawled many of the 3.part vendors forums you would find we are many many people looking for this feature.

Myself, I'm using Smart-Thinkers profile, group and event modules trying to build a social network for gamers. I'm also using XMod for games and clans. My site is well visited (up to 3k users a day) but few sign up. Again and again I've heard the same reason for not signing up: "Why are there no forum for each group, event, game, clan etc?"

For the integration into 3.part profile modules, I'm guessing that templating could handle this. Is this something you're working on?
For the integration into 3.part custom modules (say a group module where you want to "attach" a seperate forum for each group or shop items) a CustomID would be necessary. Is this something you're working on?

There is of course 3. part forum-module vendors but they too miss the integration to 3.part vendor module - eventho some do a bit of integration with 3. part profile-modules.

Thank you for reading and replying,
/jesper

The module itself exposes way for developers to make forum groups and forums if they referenced the module and wanted to develop this feature. There are an infinite number of other modules a forum could integrate with and because of this it is not realistic for the forum to be able to create things to hook into these modules. Instead, the forum allows these other modules to hook into it (similar to how DNN does) but exposing methods and following the rules of the core framework.
