I noticed that some threads have the NEXT button disabled when viewing and others do not.  What determines when it is active or not?  I have one thread at the top of the list that has NEXT enabled, but when clicking on it users get an error and this is in the Event Viewer:

How to fix?

Not sure how much this may help but when you hover your mouse over the "Next" button, look down at the bottom of the browser in the left corner where you will see the URL of where it is about to take you in the status bar.  In the middle of the URL you will see your ForumID and then the ThreadID. I have two Threads in one forum. When I hover over the Next buton and then the Previous, I will see threadid/1 or threadid/2. If for some reason yours shows a negative numeral, I would check into why that is happening. In the db table forum_forums, there is a TotalThreads count.

I checked the db and the total count is ok, no negative numbers.  This is still happening but I don't know why.

Tim, basically all threads are pulled for a particular forum and indexed, in turn this allows the UI to know if there is a previous or a next thread to view. In previous versions (such as 4.4.3 that you are probably using), this did not always accurately account for pinned threads and thus you could end up w/ an error because they actually is no previous thread or next thread due to pinned threads being involved. In the next version, these buttons are always disabled for pinned threads and pinned threads are not considered in the previous/next indexing (meaning, if on the newest post 1 behind a pinned thread, there would be no next even though in the UI a user sees the pinned thread above the one they are current viewing).
