Hi all,

I'm trying to set up DNN for a rather large/active Jeep club website.  I've found a few things that I think are wish list, but might be bugs:

1) When looking at the list of threads, I have one that says 2 pages, but when I got into it, it is 3 pages.  So, from the thread list, there is no easy way to just jump to the end.

2) It would be nice if the forums pulled the Biography from the DNN User id, rather than a separate Biography in the forum.  In general, it would be nice to be able to display with the users post (under the Avatar) more fields from the DNN User fields.  For example, it will display the "region", which is really by default just the State.  I worked around that by creating a new field in the User module called "State".  Thus, freeing the "region" for the user to put in "general" location, such as "south city" or "Southern Missouri", etc.

2a) Or can I at least be able to edit the Biography field in the Forum user area with the fck editor?  I'd like to be able to have people put in a description of their vehicles and maybe attach a picture.  But, don't want it showing up on every post (which they could with an avatar or signature).  I like the fact you can "drill in" on a user and see their biography if you want.

3) The page forward/backward links are only at the bottom of a thread (not the top) and are really very small.  It's easy to accidently his the forward/backward to the next/previous thread intead, as it is MUCH more visible.

4) The "Submit" button is way at the bottom and small.  Not actually even a button, it's a link.  I know the size/color depends on the skin chosen, but in most cases I tried it was pretty small.

5) If the polls are enabled, any way to make it a button or link rather than having to scroll all the way down through it to get to the submit button.  While I would like to give the users the ability to do polls, 99% of the time they won't be, and it's kind of annoying to have to scroll down past all of that to get to the submit button.

Which version of the module is this?

1 - Where does it say more pages than available?  I assume you mean the posts available in a single thread (from thread view). I have tested this and cannot reproduce any issues but maybe your settings are very different than those i tried (posts per page, threads per page - in this case for the logged in user).

2 - in the next version of the module, no information for the user (which is profile related) comes from the forum module itself. All dependency has moved to the core profile. It is even integrated for profile avatars now.

3 - You can change the theme for size issues, top/bottom paging won't be coming to the module until I re-write the User Interface completely.

4 - You can style the link to be like a button, you could also change your CommandButton class in your skin.

5 - I am not sure what you mean by 'anyway to make it a button or link rather than...".

Sorry, I realized I didn't give the versions, but had to wait for my post to be approved before I could get to it.  Forums is 4.5.3 and DNN is 5.2.0, so all current.

#1, see here:

#2 #3, understood

#4, I've tried changing the CommandButton to be bigger, but then that enlarged a lot of other less important things on that screen, like the "Upload" button for attachments, and the "add" button for the polls, both of which are on the way when you are scrolling down to the submit button.

#5

#5, I meant on some other forum software, I've seen a button or link that the user can click if they want to add a poll, only THEN does it bring up all the details to create a poll.  Again, the way it is now, that's more that you have to scroll down past to find the elusive "SUBMIT" button.

And, thank you very much for your quick response Chris!

Chris, on the issue on #1, it just did the opposite right here on this forum on this thread.  The thread list said this thread was two pages long, but when you go into the thread, it is only 1 page long:
