We are running into an issue with users not able to edit their own posts. The message is:

You are only allowed to edit your post within 60 minutes after the post was created. The post is now locked and can only be edited by a forum administrator or moderator.

We have the time set for 60 minutes under the Forum Administration > Users > User Settings > Post Editing Time. We have tested with two users. One that is Trusted , the other is not trusted. It happens the same on all kinds of forum types. We simply want to have registered users able to edit their own posts for up to 60 minutes after they post them. If we set it to 0 it will allow them to edit their posts. Is there some other setting I need to have toggled or set?

So is this not working within that 60 minute window? or after that 60 minute window?

Does it effect anything if you change the time zone settings around on your site? what is the timezone in portal settings? I recommend you make it the same as the server timezone.

This is happening immediately after submitting the original post. Simply creating the post and then going back to edit it shows that it is not allowing the edit due to time being expired.

Thanks for the response.

That was one of my first thoughts as the initial portal that reported may have been set for a different time zone than what DNN was using to determine if the post was too old. Both the portal and server are on the exact same time so that didn't seem to be the issue. Is there any way I can debug this? I am not getting any errors so I cannot see what it is being caused by.

As a test I created a post with a Registered User at UTC -6, then set the portal time to UTC -7 (later to UTC -5 for laughs and grins) with no result. It still shows that I cannot edit the post due to time.

Next I set the portal time to UTC -7, created a post, attempted to edit (same result), set the portal time to UTC -6, attempted to edit (same result). Repeated it with UTC -5 for sake of completeness.

Checked the time recorded in the CreatedDate field of Forum_Posts and it shows the correct server time of when the post was created regardless of the portal timezone (as expected).

I have tried this on several portals on the same installation and it is the same for all forums. Not sure why it hasn't been reported before now.
