Just wondering what I can do to keep the users in forums and other modules that I may allow to edit the ability to select/view all the folders on the site.   I dont want to make it so the site is unviewable, I want to make it so they dont see user/041/41/41 or cache and root folders, but only see a "My Folder" to upload and use images for avatars and such.  I think it looks very bad to have all folders available for viewing for uploading avatars and other files they may want to attach to a forum post.  I want to lock them down to be able to view or see just their folder they have for that user.

You can set view and write permissions on the File Manager in your Administration section.  This is by design.
