This site uses latest version of Forums module, AFAIK without modifications.

HI

The Ventrian PM module easily integrates with Active forum plus it can be used as a stand alone module which is often useful.
The various Ventrian modules are well worth a look - the cost is low and the quality is high.

I think many people use Active forums as, historically, the dnn forum has not always been the module it needed to be. It seems to be better now but some aspects are still a little troublesome.

Hiya, I have been loving the core forum, tbh. With Bartlomeij adding the extra info (gender and bike type) and fixing the avatar (issue with an u/g), I was happy to stick with it. The loss of Private Messaging feels a little more major though, as I'm sure most forum users are used to this feature within the forum workings. If I get a 3rd party module I really want it to integrate totally with the core forum.

Do I need to disable avatars in the main forum in favour of the main site profile picture? If so, how do I get the forum to use that profile pic as an avatar? I'm very interested in keeping all user profile information in one place rather than making them look in Forum/My Settings and Site Profile.

Hi Suzi

You could always tun of PM in DNN and use the ventrian PM dashboard on your forum page and use the main module on another.

I do sympathise as nobody wants to change a forum without a very good reason.  I think the fact that Active forums works with Ventrian Pm has been a definite selling point for many.

IMO: The way PM and avatars are done now is a bit clunky and inflexible.
