i have dnn 5.5.0 with some custom-made modules. fresh-installed Forum 05.00.00 module. created 11 forums in 4 groups. got NullReferenceException clicking New Thread in any forum. details:

i have another problem, not related to thread "Forum stopped working". i can't create any post, logged in as host, admin or user. examining stack trace, problem seems some way connected with taxonomy. i checked taxonomy module, it installed correctly, but i have not used it anywhere on my site. i have advanced skills in ASP.NET and MS SQL Server and much like to fix the problem myself as soon as possible

you might need to add an initial tree and item to the taxonomy module in admin menu

changed locale to US, updated DNN to 5.5.1, reinstalled Taxonomy module. still no luck. same NullReferenceException at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.PostEdit.HandleTaxonomy
