Hi,
I have created some forums where I have groups and forums but no subforums. I created it like the old forums. The page is here:

http://www.crimesagainstfathers.com/a...

I am just wondering. I can't find the option to collapse groups with the little + sign like they used to in dnn 3.x. I looked in the manual and can't find the option in 5.x I am guessing that in the new version we are expected to create a forum and then subforums.

So I wanted a 'group' for each state in Australia with a set of the same forums for each.

I am guessing that in the new version I create groups, then a heading forum and then subforums under the heading forum. Correct?

This means that the heading forums themselves could be in a group....but since I wanted a separate one for each state it would be relatively the same....

Any suggestions on improvements would be welcome. I've only just put this forum up over the last few days.

Thanks

Peter

Best Regards Peter

I removed the collapse and expand for a number of reasons back in the 3.x days. For now, i can't think of a good way of changing that without some big changes in the source.

Hi Chris,
thanks for letting me know it was removed. I hunted around and could not find it in the documentation.

It is no problem at all. I will use the subforum capability. This is how most other forums achieve the same function.

Hi All,
I rearranged the forums to use subforums as follows.
http://www.crimesagainstfathers.com/a...

But one thing I noticed what that if I moved a post from a subforum to the parent forum then I could actually not get back to that post. it does not show in the parent forum even when it is really in there. I had to go back to the userid used to put the post up and get the url and then move it back to the subforum. I would have thought the behaviour would be that the posts to the parent forum could be somehow easily navigated to??

Also, is there an 'inline' option for attachments? I can't find one. Some images we would like to show in the post rather than the person having to click on them.

Thanks....

And please allow me to say I appreciate the support of the dot net nuke community in making available this technology to help us bring justice to the millions of fathers around the world who have been abused by your criminal family courts. All men who wish to join us are welcome. The DNN community is overwhelmingly male being a Tech community. What we are doing affects you all.

Best Regards
