Do you happen to be running the site on IIS 7 or 7.5 with an ASP.Net 4.0 rather than ASP.Net 2.0/3.5 application pool? If so, the post back to the same page without generating the RSS feed may be related to the same issue which affects the LinkClickHandler and CaptchaHandler handlers in such configurations.

If this applies to your site, in the site's web.config file, find the following line in the <system.webServer><handlers> section:

<add name="RSSHandler" path="RSS.aspx" verb="*" type="DotNetNuke.Services.Syndication.RssHandler, DotNetNuke" preCondition="integratedMode,runtimeVersionv2.0" />

For the preCondition attribute change runtimeVersion2.0 to runtimeVersion4.0. While there, you will want to make the same change to the other handler registrations.

I am running ASP.NET 3.5 and my web.config already had the rss handler line exactly as you specified. The "Syndicate" button at the module level is not working regardless of the type of module. I have tried with the Forum, Events, and Form and List. When clicking the Syndicate button, it just opens a new window and loads the page I was on. It does not generate an RSS feed. However, in the Events module, if I click on the "Events RSS" button (displayed at the top of the event list), that does generate an RSS feed. Not sure what the difference is. Any ideas or suggestions on how to investigate further? Thanks, Joan
