Is it possible to have a "new since last visit" function for the forum? Is this something that the forum already supports?

Right now a thread stays highlighted as new until I click on it (or I mark the forum as read). Most forums I am used to, automatically mark forums as "read" for your next visit so that only forums with new posts since your last visit will be highlighted (and the "old" new threads or threads with new posts will be greyed out regardeless if you clicked on them or not).

Is this something that this forum can do?

Is there a function to search for all new posts since last visit?

Thanks!

It doesn't work like that at all. In the future it may be possible to filter posts to new since last visit. As far as highlighting and reading, the system is setup now and I don't think we will be changing the read status part.

Maybe I'll take a crack at it then.

How's LastActivity field populated in the Forum_Users table? It doesn't update every time I refersh a page ... or post something.

Does it update if my session times out?

I know this module very very well, I can assure you when I say it doesn't work like that I mean it. You can, of course, change it to how you see fit. Right now there are two tables for Reads, one threads and the other posts. The LastActivity field in the users table has nothing to do with read status. I am not even sure what this is being used for anymore. As for sessoin, what happens with that really affects nothing in terms of read status since it is not based on the LastActivity.
