I am using DNN 6.0 and Forum 5.03 and when I try to upload a file to a thread I get an error.

Error: is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: The underlying system threw an exception. ---> DotNetNuke.Services.FileSystem.FolderProviderException: The underlying system threw an exception. ---> System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Community\Portals\0\Forums\Attachments\Order Form 2010.docx' because it is being used by another process. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.File.Delete(String path) at DotNetNuke.Services.FileSystem.FileWrapper.Delete(String path) at DotNetNuke.Services.FileSystem.StandardFolderProvider.UpdateFile(IFolderInfo folder, String fileName, Stream content) at DotNetNuke.Services.FileSystem.FileManager.MoveFile(IFileInfo file, IFolderInfo destinationFolder) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at DotNetNuke.Services.FileSystem.FileManager.MoveFile(IFileInfo file, IFolderInfo destinationFolder) at DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities.FileSystemUtils.MoveFile(String strSourceFile, String strDestFile, PortalSettings settings) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.WebControls.AttachmentControl.cmdUpload_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
Could this be a bug, or is there something I have configured wrong.

Thank you

I would like to add, that after I get the error if I go to the file manager the file that I was trying to upload is present in the forum/attachments folder.

Hi Paul,

I have the exact same error message. I'm running IIS 7.5, SQL 2008, and DNN 6.00.00.

Attachments also appear in the forums/attachment folder.

It looks like something changed in the 6.0 update that affects attachments (and potentially avatars uploaded within the module itself). There were changes around file/folder handling in the core and that is likely the culprit. However, I do not have a fix at this time.

Just curious if there is a fix, or when we can expect one.

Thank you
