I have a forum that is not sending notifications when new posts are made.

The forum is set to type "Notification forum", and Administrators role has the Notify permission set. The site (5.6.1) has v5.0.0 of the forum installed, and sends a test email successfully using the test facility in Host->Host Settings.

Please can anyone confirm that this configuration is correct, and clarify how notifications are supposed to work.

Thanks,

Can anyone cast any light on this please? Not receiving notifications is causing unacceptable delays in responding to forum posts for the owners of the site in question.

Are you using the email queue or just the standard one and do you have notifications enabled (you can view the configuration from the module's Admin -> Email Settings section in the control panel)?

As for how it works, it depends on the queue task being enabled or not. I generally recommend using the task as that is what is used on here and tested the most. It also allows you to track what emails are going out (not tied to actual delivery, but it lets you see what emails are going out and to whom).

Thanks for the reply and the suggestions, Chris. I'm still having problems with this, it's kind of annoying because I'm missing forum posts.

I have notifications enabled, but the queue option is disabled. It is not possible to enable it, at least in the corfiguration I have.

I was able to enable the queue feature after enabling the scheduled task for the same. However I still don't receive any notifications.

I have the forum and user level notification options enabled, and have checked that my user has notification requests configured for all of the forums. I can see items going out in the queue, but none addressed to me.

 Any thoughts?
