I'm on DNN 3.1 using the latest 3.10.01 forum / blog module and I cannot get the category to change when I do the add blog.  I have one primary category and two sub categories and I can't get it to change between the two sub categories.  It pops up with one of the categories listed but the search icon is not clickable.  I also notice that in IE when I load the page, there is a javascript error saying missing ')' so maybe that is somehow linked?

I figured it out, I looked at the src to see what the java script error was and it was related to the fact that my parent blog category had a ' in it.  It was called "Becker's Blog" which was causing the issue.  It seems to be working just fine when I removed the '.

These blogs are being removed.  Another DNN project with blogs will be out shortly.  The next forums version will remove all blog items, so please plan accordingly.

Crispy, do you have any addtional details about this?  What new features will there be?  Are you talking about forum and blogs being replaced?   Is there an ETA date that this new module will be out?

The forums are still going to be these forums.  The next release is very impressive, and this is just not my own opinion.  The blog will be replaced by a different blog project eventually.  No, I do not know when.  I have no other details on this except the blog that was based on this module is done.  We are finished adding features to the forum and fixing bugs so far.  I have even finished the UI changes.  At this point it just testing.  You should see this forum change shortly with this new install.  I would look for a few days after you see that happen for a release.
