I've installed the module -everything looked good... after adding it to a pane and hitting "continue" on the set-up wizard - I had a set of 3 "start-up" forums... I clicked on Control Panel - and it says "Loading.... Please wait."

It does not do anything more than that...

Any ideas on what might be going on?

I had no problems installing the module upgrade, please restore backup and retry.

Rob, are you a developer? If yes, continue using AF and it does work on 7.0.6. If not, find another solution. It's a dying module.

People will tell you that the community is keeping it "alive" and that is has an "active" community. But not really.

My problem with AF is two fold - first of all there is zero activity in the AF community - I went there and there are like 4 posts in the last few months... so your comment about it dying might be accurate...

Secondly, skinning that forum is tedious and extremely time consuming.  With the DNNForum module I could completely re-skin a site with css and images - and I could do it in a few hours.  Of course it helped that I worked on the Forum project for a few years...

I  can always tell how easy it is for someone to skin a site by checking out sample sites to see how attractive/matched/custom a forum looks relative to the site.  All I see is a change in the header bars and background colors. Almost all sites used the exact same icon sets!  And certainly nothing unique or attractive.  Sometimes bloody ugly !  (yea, yea... eye of the beholder!) ;-)

I digress... right now, I can't even get the thing running on 7.0.6.  Not sure what dependencies are hanging it up but I installed it again on a pretty clean (new) system... and everything else is running fine...  a second attempt causes the same issue:  "Please wait... Loading."

I'm going to try it on my on-line site (7.1.0) and see what happens...

After spending 18 - 24 months on the DNN forum in order to make it easily skinnable, I can't believe that 3 years later we're back to square one... very disappointing.

Did you install the latest beta or 5.0.3? I noticed that behavior also on the latest beta.
