Hi,

I have a DNN site which allows people to register unfortunately it's sending a "Thanks for registering" email that includes the username and password. I vaguely remember being able to choose what is and isn't included in that email! Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Jim.

yes, you can use admin->languages (or manually edit the resx file) - the relevant texts are in the globalresources.resx file -look for the
EMAIL_PASSWORD_REMINDER_BODY and EMAIL_USER_REGISTRATION_PUBLIC_BODY fields

Buy the new Professional DNN7: Open Source .NET CMS Platform book Amazon US

Hi Cathal,

I've looked in language management and there is just English (US) in there. I can add language packs etc but nothing about the "Thank you for registering message".

Is there something else I need to do?

Thanks,

Jim.

Hi Cathal,

This is the sort of thing I'm talking about:

Dear Jim,

We are pleased to advise that you have been added as a Registered User to " This website".  Please read the following information carefully and be sure to save this message in a safe location for future reference.

Portal Website Address:"web address would be here"

Username: Jim

Password: "Password"

Thank you, we appreciate your support...

This is being automatically generated but I'd like either not send the password or send some like "S******9", just showing the first and last character.

Thanks again,

Jim.

Hi Cathal,

I've found the resource with the text I want to change but I'm not able to change it! I can scroll through it I can highlight bits of it but I can't type over it. I must be close.

Regards,

Jim.
