I already have the code pretty much broken for moving from PHPBB to Active Forums but if I can get the functionality we need using DNN core modules, I think that would give us a better hedge against a third party discontinuing support for a product.  That said, I really, really do not like uploading images into a folder especially when it means I see folders I should never see or otherwise access.  I am logged in as a user with no privileges at all and can delete some of the homepage assets.  Are there other options for file management in DNN Forums or do I just continue on with Active Forums?  Thanks.

I figured it out.  Silly me.  I thought that because DNNSoftware had its files open to the world that they couldn't be shut down.  I just set the permission to the template folder to make it accessible only to web manager roles.  All done.  Now, about DNNSoftware.com. . . .Why is this wide open?  Imagine the possibilities!

it might be a configuration issue on this site (which still uses old Telerik editor)

Hmmmm....  I went into File Management and locked down the whole template folder.  I would assume that whoever manages the dnnsoftware site would be able to do the same.

I did some poking around in there to try to find the documentation for DNN Forum but all I found was an image file.  Does this documentation exist?  If so, where can I find it?  All I was able to find Googling was that Mr. Paterra was surprised to see that someone took it off the site.

What I am most interested in right now is managing the categories and file types allowed to be uploaded via the Media Manager.  E.g., removing Flash Manager and Image Map Editor or at least being able to block access to them.  I also want to be able to determine which file types can be uploaded.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!
