I'm am considering using this forum over another DNN forum.  I read that the forum user is not added until after the user browses the forum.  Can I just add them in using code? I also saw there is an import feature for the forum.  What does the file format need to be?  XML, CSV, etc?  and what is the format for the posts/users in this file?

I'd be curious to learn more about the import feature as well.

I've got an existing forum with close to 1,000 posts, and I'm toying with the idea of switching it over to the DNN forums as we upgrade to DNN 3.1.1.  An import feature would be a lifesaver.

Thus far, however, I haven't found any information on what format is needed.

I have over 165,000 posts to convert and over 14,000 users.  I am about to use ActiveModules forums but wanted to see these before I go live with what I them.

I am in the same situation here as well.  I would love to migrate to DNN as well.

I know it would be a pain to code to the 100s of forum engines out there, but how about a migration tool that has "insert code here to pull necessary data from your engine"?

There is no import feature available for this forum.  It is not on our roadmap.  We stand by our original statement that we are not going to do any data migration from one specific forum module to this one.  Being this is an open source project, anyone can add this and distribute it as they wish.  It would not be horribly difficult and could function as a seperate module.  (Thus not needing to modify dnn or this forum codebase)
