I would like to make it so the forum users have the same alias name their portal user name.  I could not find any controls to force this so I have been relying on the portal users to just set it up this way. 

The problem I am having is that one of my users set up an alias that is not their portal username.  When I try to change it to the portal username it does not work.  I can change it to something else, but not to their portal username.

Is there a way I can get the alias to match?

I am currently working this option in for the next release to use username or Display Name. Until then, it would require you changing the Alias field on the Forum_User table using a custom SQL sproc.

Thanks for looking into adding the option.  I am anxiously awaiting its arival.  SQL is a little beyond my current experience, but I am looking into it.

Hello All;'

I am working with Forum’s new version ( Forums version 03.20.08 / DNN version 4.3.5  )and am trying to figure out if it allows for forcing the alias to be the website user id. (Due to the nature of the website, I would it not allow user modification of the forum Alias.)

Also, I am having a problem where a user has changed there alias from their website username and  now it cannot be changed back. When the user clicks the update button, nothing happens. The user id can be changed to another non/username and back to the original non/username, but cannot be changed back to the actual username.

Another problem I am having is that I would like to delete a user from the forums, but cannot figure out how to do this.
