Hello -
Wanted to share my thoughts as we've been looking at Wiki for about 4-5 months now as a network documentation repository medium and I am not sure about it's stability.
First, the wiki text box behavior doesn't always do what is expected. The formatting of items in the box after it is submitted is different than when authoring content. This happens almost everytime we use the Rich Text Editor. This behavior seems different than, lets say, the HTML/Text module.
Second, I am concerned about the reliability. On three separate occasions, once our guys started adding content to the wiki, the module starts throwing out, "an unknown error has occured" - which is fairly nebolous. Tracking it down doesn't yield anything and normally involves simply "refreshing" the screen which brings you back to the wiki page, but still unable to change content. This has frustrated many members on our team.
Last, if a web page is locked up in the above scenario, we couldn't delete the page and start all over. It literally blocked us from being able to do anything with the page in question. This added to the frustration as if the module has a problem with a particular page, there must be a way to recover from it by simply deleting out the bad page.
I have quite a bit of excitement around this project as I feel it will make a positive impact once it's been shored up -- I just can't right now recommend it in production environments in it's current state.
When is a release slatted? What bug fixes are on that release? Has stability been addressed?
Appreciate your efforts,
JMM
