Hi there,

I've been using the DNN Wiki module for some time now, unfortunately there's always been just one or two bugs that were always in the way of it being perfect (thats the nature of things I suppose).

I've loaded up the new Beta version but one issue seems to have made it from the last version into this one.  (thankfully the "<" + ">" issue is sorted out though by the looks of things!)

If I create a link using the double square brackets and then open that link and edit it - it always appears blank after saving.  I've even checked the history of the page and its always blank so its as if the update is just failing without an error message. (Have tested this with multiple logons including root so it does not appear to be rights related).

This was actually happening on the old version but when I installed the beta it seemed to have gone away but only to return again.  Some pages however (specifically older content) do seem to be able to be edited though.

Has anyone else had this issue?  Is this one of the items that were handled in the Beta?  Any suggestions?

It'd be great if there was an easy solution to this one - and any help would be much appreciated.

You are maybe using foreign characters in topic names and IE. There is bug in stable and beta versions which corrupts url when going into edit mode (I mean wiki edit mode). Look at the topic name while you are moving to edit mode.
You can check the list of topic for your saved articles with "alien" characters.

If this issue is yours, then try using Firefox or any other browser until bug get fixed.

Thanks for the feedback!

As for foreign characters - i'm afraid not.  Just normal english titles - normally only a couple words long.  One topic is simply called Test and it's doing it.

As for my browser - I am actually using Firefox by default.  After this post though I tried using IE but to the same effect.  I've checked the URL and it appears to maintain it correctly in both IE and Firefox so i'm not thinking its that either.

Something else which I've noticed which may help in the troubleshooting and identifying is that when a save is successful (which only applies to older created pages as all new ones remain blank) is that once saving it displays the updated page, the ones which fail default to the "home" of the wiki (in other words a couple levels back).  Is there perhaps somewhere that errors on the wiki are being logged?  I honestly think that it's likely running into an error but the error message just doesn't display - if it was being logged I could at least post it up here?

Please - any suggestions or possible fixes would be great.  After we started with the issue of foreign characters before the guys here at the company pretty much stopped using the wiki, I put on the beta and after some testing informed the staff it was back but am now back to issues stopping us from using it.

Are you getting any errors in the Eventlog related to the Wiki?

Hi Chris,

I've looked around for a log that would the wiki may be using but haven't found anything that seems to have logged items for errors or events etc.

I've checked the windows logs (as its the only one that I could think of that you may have been refering to in your text) but they have no DNN or wiki events that I could recognise. I tried triggering the error and monitoring the windows logs but nothing came up.  Where is the even log that you are referring to?  Have you had/heard of this issue before?

PS. Thanks for the help in advance - as I say - i'm a lil stuck and don't seem to be finding a way out of this issue on my own.
