hi,

i tried to use the value IsCrawler and the DNNMENU but it doesn't work. i just get the normal menu.

NAV runat="server" id="dnnNAV" ProviderName="DNNMenuNavigationProvider" ControlOrientation="Vertical" IsCrawler="true"

can't I use the DNNMENU just to render a link list of the menu elements?

I believe the property you are looking for is ForceCrawlerDisplay as you are setting it in the skin object and not directly on the control.

See this doc or the skinning doc for more info.

Page 13 of the doc shows that the DNNMenu (the one you specified in your providername) does not support this property.  Sorry I didn't catch that earlier.  Try switching to SolpartMenuNavigationProvider.
