I am new to DNN and was experimenting with creating a simple Windows Form application that I was planning to use as tool to import data from one CMS system into DNN, so I was hopeful I could create an instance of the DotNetNuke.Library, or more specifically, the DotNetNuke.Data.DataProvider.Instance(). I assume this is possible, just a little fuzzy on the minimum required dependencies and configuration.

Thanks.

not something i've tried, but all the providers retrieve their settings from the web.config file, so I wouldn't expect a direct reference to work. I'd suggest adding system.web and system.configuration to your class library, and then you should be able to use the dataproviders just as you would normally.
