I am writting a webservice to install on my dnn 4 site.  I want to call the webservice from a winform and have it validate the users login.  It is similar to the single sign on (sso).  I have found a few old articles on the web to do this.  I was hoping that I could hook into the membership dll.  Does anybody have any suggestions?  Please let me know.

thanks

Hi David, you will probably not get any answers to this question here as this is the area for ClientAPI related questions. What you are looking for is customizing the MembershipProviders. Try this question the the "Extend It" forum, or at http://forums.asp.net.

I have done this so it's a workable aproach. However, you need to study the Membership-, Roles- and ProfileProviders. I'm not able to share the code, but as soon as you get the hang of the providers it's not hard to do.

Cheers,
/Robert
