I know that if I do something like objTree.SelectedNodes I am able to loop through the top level (when using a For Each x As TreeNode, etc) and it immediately goes down to the child level and finds the items which are selected. (This is something done in the forum UserSettings.ascx.vb. Now, since there is no UnselectedNodes (which I wouldn't expect there to be anyways) I have to try another method. I assumed I would loop through each node and then do a If node.Selected = False and add to an array. (The array shouldn't matter to you, just trying to relate a bit). The problem is I never get down to the children at this point, it only gets the top level.

To explain in more of an example, I am using this in the forums. The group node level is what it only loops through and never drills down into the forums to see if something is/is not selected.

Anything you can recommend on a better way to do this?

Thanks.

The node collection is hierarchical in nature.  In order to get to the child nodes you will need to write a recusrive function.

pseudo code

function ProcessNodes(ParentNode As TreeNode)

for each oNode in ParentNode.Nodes

  'Do Something

  if oNode.Nodes.Count > 0 Then

    ProcessNodes(oNode)

  End If

Next
