Hi,

I'm about to set up a multi-language website for a client. Are there any blogs/whitepapers/help of any sort that I can research before I set out.

regards,

D.

there is no whitepaper, as there is no built in support for ML portals and you need to utilize 3rd party modules, check out this forum for additional information.

That's a pity. no doubt it's in the pipeline for version 5 ! :)

fyi, I did an experimental iBUYSpy  ML site way back - it's still there [ http://www.247golfshop.com ].

Meanwhile, I guess the only way to move forward is to set up multiple sub-portals, each reflecting a different language. It's not such a big deal as the real effort is the translation with the 'extra' being the assurance work to ensure that the various sub-sites are in step.

I would, of course set the default language for each site appropriately.

Anyone have a better approach?

I suggest to have a look at the 3rd party modules, most of it are free:

EALO from www.effority.net or PageLocalization from www.apollo-software.nl or DLSLocalizator from dnn.tiendaboliviana

and there are ML modules from the same developers and from www.portalfabrik.net
