Hi im more than a beginner to DotnetNuke.

As, I know while doing Custom Module Development one has to add different resource files for each language

under App_Local........ folder. So wat do the Language Packs do, Add more resource files to each Core Module of the main DNN Application.

Any quick reply will be more than helpful.

Best Regards,

Hameer Saleem

language packs are packed resuorce files for a specific languages (and a manifest for installation). Use create "language pack" from host::languages to create a language pack.

Thnx alot for ur response.

Does that mean the LanguagePack applies to Core Modules itself.?

If so does it also apply to Custom Modules as well? or do we have to add the necessary resource files by hand in the Module Code?

I would be grateful if you provide as much detail as you can.

there are lanugage packs for the core (with or w/o core modules), for single or multiple modules and providers or for a complete installation. It depends, what you are exporting, the pack always contain a bunch of resource files and a manifest, where to place them. Note, that there is currently no version control, so be careful on installation of language packs and compare version numbers in advance.

Thnx for reply again.

Does that mean for custom modules we have to create our own localized resource files??
