I am trying to change the message that appears when a new user clicks on the register button. Right now, what displays in this window is

Preferred User Information
*Note: Membership to this portal is Public. Once your account information has been submitted, you will be immediately granted access to the portal environment. All fields marked with a red arrow are required.

I want to change that *NOTE field to be more specific about how our users function.

I was told this is in the Languages tab off the admin tab.  WHERE!  there must be hundreds of places to look.  ANy help?   Thanks

Hi Mark:

Good timing for the question.  I just located it under the language editor at the following level.  There may be more but this one

\App_GlobalResources\SharedResources.resx

PublicMembership.Text

Hope this helps,

Doug

Hello Mark,

You may find additional information on this subject at the following thread:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/77/threadid/266520/scope/posts/Default.aspx

And, one suggestion you may find useful: Whenever you need to find something on these forums, google a phrase like the following. Usually issues like this one have been thoroughly discussed before:

"Membership to this portal is" forum site:dotnetnuke.com

Welcome to the DotNetNuke community!

Saludos!

Alejandro

Mark and Doug-

You may find the following tidbit posted back in March helpful when adding special instructions to the user registration page.  It goes one step beyond changing Language/Resource File text and may give you some ideas for other enhancements:

Blog: Add custom registration instructions to the DNN user account registration page:
