I have been looking for this in every single .resx file and .xml file related to a languagepack but I do not find it anywhere as did i try changing currency on the host admin page.

Currently I have an english (en-US) and dutch (nl-NL) version running with some modules using the variables form these languagepacks like currency. I however want every price to show as Euro ( € ) even on the en-US version but I can't find where to do this.

currency is usually not boound to the language pack and there are no currencies in the core framework, except for membership fees, which can be specified in Site Settings. Which module are you using?

Currency have the same behavior as Date, depending on the formating string. So the language installed change the currency if a generic format string is used.

And is there anyway to change this formating string?

The addon I use is called eTailer a webshop module from emerald-solutions.co.uk, I have contacted there support:

Hi,

This is actually the expected behaviour of eTailer as it uses currency symbols associated with the language pack used by the customer.

It should be possible to change the installed language pack to use a different currency symbol, but I do not know where you would do this (although presumably the language packs are XML files that can be altered).

And they have no plan from changing this

currency not stored in the language packs, but eTailer might use the currency from .Net framework. usually, the currency shouldn't be tight strictly to the locale used, as there are some countries accepting multiple currencies.
