I can't edit the profile.ascx.Portal-0.resx  when I click on languages  admin / users /app_localResources it does not show up to edit. should it be renamed? to profile.ascx.resx ?  If I rename it I can edit it in the language editor.  not that i seems to work if its renamed.

I've added a checkbox terms of use for registration  the frustrating thing is Even though I add a Category I don't get a category . and then the problem with the resx I can't edit it for creating a link to the terms of use page !

profile.ascx.Portal-0.resx contains modifications on portal level, while profile.ascx.resx contains localization on language pack level. Guess what profile.ascx.Host.resx contains ;)

great the issue I'm having the registration page is not using the resource file !  I'm trying to change the language for the registration page for the new field I added Accept Terms.  I'm trying to include the link to the terms of use page.

if you create localization for a custom profile property, it is stored in a (portal specific) resource file as well.

Im not sure Im following you  . Isnt that going to be Profile.ascx.portal-0.resx ?  which is the file I'm modifying.

I appreciate your assistance .  but

this shouldn't be so hard.   or obtuse.  First the datatype for the checkbox is missing in DNN5 I need to fix that - The categories don't show on the registration page NO-FIX for that ,now something simple like modifying the text of the added field doesn't work. so I can add a link to terms page. I've spent 8 hours on this instead of 8 minutes.
