most likely, you are using an outdated version of Telerik.dll. How did you perform the upgrade?

Hi Sebastian,

Same issue is raised in the following post under Upgrading DNN:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F...

I have got this error after trying to upgrade from DNN 4.9.8 to 5.6.1 - since my old site is in full source version therefore, I followed tese steps:

  1. created a new DNN site with install version of 5.6.1 with a new database.
  2. After running the site successfully, I pointed the solution to my 4.9.8 database and moved all custom modules/asseblies/skins to the new solution.
  3. The database was updated with no errors however when accessing the site I got errors on some core modules with missing db objects like stored procedures.
  4. I resolved these issues by re-installing all core modules one by one using private assemblies
  5. At this stage, all other admin functions and core modules seem to be working fine apart from languages.

The site uses en-GB as the default locale with two other locales used. I am also using DSLocalizator for content localisation. I have already updated DSLocalizator to 03.00.05 (compatible with DNN 5.6) but I am not able to change locales and due to this error I am not able to check which languages are enabled on the portal.

I have checked the version for telerik.web.ui.dll to be 2010.2.929.35

I would be grateful for any advice or suggestions on how to proceed further.

Regards
Arif Shah

Arif, please be aware, this is NOT the recommended upgrade procedure. Upgrade is considered to be done inplace, i.e. unzip new version over existing files, browse to your site and the upgrade will be started. Always start with a full backup of files and database or use a duplicated installation. You may need upgrading in multiiple steps via 5.2.3 and 5.4.4. There are known issues with DS Localizator, there is another community member working on it.
