Hi,

I would like to report our experience on the use of the content localization features as available with Dnn 5.5.1.
Everything is reported in detail this article :
You can read the article in french here : La-localisation-de-contenu-avec-DNN-551
You can read an automated translation here : translate.google.com/...

Basically, it doesn't work as we expected. It also seems to present some bug which corrupt stored data about modules and Default Culture.

Cheers,

Hi Sebastian,

I think there is a simply solution to  CL in DNN5.5.1....DON'T TURN IT ON!!!

I would like to see CL in DNN be everything it is promising to be, but the truth is, it's not ready!!

I've decided to stay with my old method of DSLocalizator for now, while it does not match everybodies needs, and still has some areas which can be buggy.  It does everything I need at the moment.

I do think DNN would have been wiser doing a more baby step approach to CL, they seem to have jump in at the deep end, of what is a far more complex problem than people first think!!

Dave.

Please be aware, that this is the very first implementation of the new feature with a number of known issues and usability limitations. Of course, there is still some way to go, in order to get a real solution.

Thanks for those comments. @David Lee : I agree with you, the way it is done isn't really showing simplicity in the interface.
