I intalled a brand new instance of DNN 06.00.01 and I set Content Localization to enabled.

I've created a new page but there are no "Localization Settings" on the page.

From the superuser manual it states:

Localization Settings for New Pages

How to set the localization setting for new pages on the Page Settings page. Note: The Localization section only displays if content localization is enabled.

After checking the box for "Enable Content Localization" in the host settings. I cleared the cache and restarted the application.  I then logged out and logged back in.  I also tried throwing some salt over my shoulder for good luck.  Still no localization settings section on the page.

Any ideas? This is supposed to be available in the community version right?

Sue

have you added a 2nd language- the localizaton section only appears on the "child" language pages as far as I recall.

Susan, please check language settings in Admin > Languages, you need to have two active languages and content localization activated.

Thanks for the replies. I have done all that you both suggest.

I have three languages enabled in Admin, Languages. The standard US English, English Canada and French Canada. When I "Verify language resource files" the US English is good but the other two come up with: Missing Resource files: 181

Are all language packs supposed to come with the install? Is this my problem?

I'm not understanding the concept of it. My knowledge is limited to version 4 so this is all new to me. So how do I start? I'm assuming I need an "About Us" (for example) page in both languages. Is that correct? Do I create two separate parent pages or a parent and a child page? When I create a child page it looks like it just makes it a sub-menu (I made it show up in the menu) of the parent page. I think I'm missing something. Since I don't have the localization stuff appearing on my pages I can't see what the options are.

I looked for language packs for version 6 but only found them for versions 5 and lower.

Thanks for the replies.  I am doing all of that.  I'm not looking to have admin functions show up in two languages. I'm simply trying to have a bilingual website.  A splash page where the user picks English or French and then a language switch on the fly after they have entered the site.  Is this what the Content localization is supposed to do?

Also, I guess language packs for English Canada and French Canada didn't come with the basic installation because I get: Missing Resource files: 181   when I do the resource file verification.  Not sure if I need these packs if all I want to do is have a bilingual site and not bilingual admin functions.

Can anyone please clarify this?

Thanks

Sue
