Version tested: 6.1.0 and 6.1.2 community edition

I want to create a site with multiple languages. What I've done is add the language I want, enabled and activated it. With the pages I want to translate, I clicked "Ready for Translation" from default culture. Up to now everything is just fine. I can see that all the modules have their copy for the second language in the "Module Localization" list, and I can switch to my secondary language, and translate the title of the page and modules without any problems.

The problem is that If I want to translate the content of any module in secondary language, it will also influnce the default language. I learned that I need to detach the modules first to avoid that, but I found that I can't detach them.

In the "Page Setting / Localization" tab, I tried to checked the modules I want to translate in the "Module Locationzation" list, and click the link "Detach from Default Culture", but nothing happened!  The icons in the "Is Detached?" column are still red "-" instead of green "√". What's more, I found that I can only mark the whole page as translated, but I can't mark any module as translated (They will still show red "-" in the "Translated?" column after I check all the modules need to be translated and click "Mark as Translated" under "Module Localization" section).

Did I miss something related to multi-language, or is that some kind of bug? Any suggestion will be helpful.

If it matters, I am seeing the same issue on 5.6.3 as well...  and it is on modules that are added after the initial translation was done.  if an entire new page is created and then set as ready for translation it seems to work as expected.  But if someone goes back and adds a html mod on the default laguage site, we can click ready for translation and the second culture appears but can not be detached as described by the OP.

Hi James. Thanks for your information. However, I just tested with newly created pages with only the default html module, and it doesn't work as well. I think my situation is even worse than yours.

I traced the source code and found the bug. By fixing the bug I can translate my pages now. I've reported the bug to the Bug Tracker, and hope that can be included in the next version.

Great news.  Is it something that I may be able to replicate for testing on this version?  I'm even looking to see if I can find the table in the DB to see if I can force the detach flag.  Glad there are people that can help run these things down as it helps all the users of the community.  thanks!
