In previous versions of DNN there was an option to remove /Language/xx-XX/ from the url.
This option does not exist any more unfortunately.

Searching the forums the only option I have found is purchasing a module  for 120 US to do this.

The pages render just fine if I just  by hand delete this part of the url, but I cannot find a way to make  DNN stop adding this portion to the url by default.

Is there no other way to make DNN stop doing this?  either in  IIS7 , web.conig or by adding a rule in "friendly url settings" in host ?

Jamo, I don't understand your issue. Use the setting in Module Settings of Languages modules in Admin menu (DNN 5,5 and above), to either show or hide language parameter in your website URLs.

Hi,

What is the ad/disadvantage to hide the country code in the url portion?

Regards, Ton
