Hello, I'm having the following problem with my DNN 6.2.3 installation. I have enabled 5 languages for my website, the language parameter in the URL and the browser language detection feature. The site's default language is English. Everything works ok, as long as the browser uses English as the default language. When I try navigating to the base url (http://localhost/dotnetnuke in my case) with a browser that doesn't use English as the default language, the login control comes up instead of the homepage (I don't use a specific Login page) and the site's admin skin is loaded instead of the default skin. If, from there, I try using the website's main menu without logging in, the links point to the correct pages in the correct language, and they work. So, for example I get http://localhost/dotnetnuke/it-IT/home.aspx and that loads the homepage correctly in Italian. If, from there, I try going to http://localhost/dotnetnuke it loads the login control again. If I try going to http://localhost/dotnetnuke/home.aspx, DNN switches to the site's default language (English) and it loads the homepage. If after this I try going to http://localhost/dotnetnuke, it loads the homepage in English. I hope I'm making myself clear. It took a while to understand how this bug works.Whan I want is obviously that the website loads the homepage in the browser's language at the first visit on the base URL.

Thanks for you help.

Erion

Accepted Answer
please check special page settings for the additional languages by editing Admin > Site Settings, while being in this language.

Thanks a lot for you help. I went to Admin > Site settings in all the additional languages and I noticed that some of the settings saved in the English language hadn't been replicated, amongst which the specification of the homepage. I had to save it separately for all the languages and now everything works as it should.

Danke schön :) !

Cheers fom Italy.
