Hi

anyone know how I can read the dnn language cookie?

I need to check it in my module for localisation but javascript isn't allowed access because of forms authentication.

Request.Cookies["language"]

does not work either.

what is your exact requirement? On the server, you may read current culture and currentUI culture from .Net framework: system.threading.currentthread.currentculture and system.threading.currentthread.currentUIculture.

Hi Sebastian

I need to use a database for localisation so I decided to use some JQuery and Ajax to call a web service to get the localised labels for the module.  I need to pass in the users chosen locale. I can get their preferred locale like this:

var locale = (navigator.language) ? navigator.language : navigator.userLanguage;

However, I want to know if the user clicked one of the flags which changes the cookie: language.

But I can't get the cookie with js.

Will getting the current culture from the server be the same as the language cookie?

Gus

Gus,
the current thread culture should be more accurate than the cookie value.
