HI. I have created a new site in DNN7.4.0 (clean instal), added FR, DE and ES languages, with a EN-UK default.

I have been really careful - no adding modules to all pages, only localising html, otherwise adding eg banner modules to each language individually.

I have found that when updating eg page settings in non default languages (but maybe in default UK too), the skin has reverted to a basic skin (Dark Knight maybe) for the viewer although the (UK) site settings  show my client skin. I have fixed this each time by going into any default language EN-UK page and Tools>Clear Cache. and my real skin redisplays.

This seems to work for a while, but each morning when I return to look at the site, it has reverted to display Dark Knight.

Overnight, our server takes back ups of sitefiles and database, but noone logs in.

I'm awaiting feedback on go-live, but obviously cant even review it with it in this state.

Do I need to change skin for each Language eg go into DE_DE Admin>site settings?

Urgent help gratefully received. I hoped that DNN 7.4 would fix my localization issues.

Thanks Jane

Starting with DNN 7.4.0, DNN offers Skin and Container Site settings per language.
you need to switch language and set appropriately, or download and run https://dnnscript.codeplex.com/releas... to make sure, Settings are specified for each language. There is a known Caching issue in DNN 7.4.0, which will be fixed in DNN 7.4.1

Hi Sebastian

Thank you for your response. I have gone into Admin>Site settings (uk) to confirm site theme/container, edist theme/container.  Saved that.

Went into Admin, clicked DE flag and Admin >Sitesettings (or DE translation of) - they were already set as the UK. Reset them, saved. Time updated.

Went into Admin, clicked ES flag and Admin >Sitesettings (or ES translation of) - they were already set as the UK and DE - timestamp as DE. Reset them, saved. Time updated.

Went into Admin, clicked FR flag and Admin >Sitesettings (or FR translation of) - they were already set as the UK and DE and ES - timestamp asES . Reset them, saved. Time updated.

I will let you know if this doesnt stop the resetting skin, but as they were all set the same anyway, I suspect it wont.

Should I change host > site setting >skin?

 Jane

Jane,
you may check skin settings by entering the following in Host > SQL and review the result:
SELECT PortalID, SettingName, CultureCode, SettingValue
FROM {databaseOwner}[{objectQualifier}PortalSettings]
WHERE SettingName Like N'Default%Skin' OR SettingName Like N'Default%Container'
ORDER BY PortalID, SettingName

Site skins have remained correct this morning and SQL shows settings correct. As ever, thank you, Sebastian.
