Hello,

I'm currently developing an extension to the DNN basic localization. This is a complement to the Apollo and Magic localization modules. Where these modules localize the HTML/Text modules, my extension translates the tabs and modules. At this stage it only ttanslates page name/title and descriptions, and the module titles.

If you're interested, try it out at http://localization.iobservable.com/. All suggestions are welcome. At this stage, it's free if you want to give it a try on your own website. At a later stage I'm not sure what I'l do with it.

Both, Apollo and Locopon, already have a solution for localization of page names / titles and descriptions as well as module names.

Cheers from Germany,

You're right. Apollo's and Magic Content's both are excellent modules. They both translate the content of Text/Html their own way. The DNN extension I'm designing is a complement to both modules, not a replacement. Just give it a try and tell me what you think.

If you are looking for a solution to localize page names and titles in skin objects, menu and breadcrumb, have a look at PageLocalization from Apollo or MMLocalizator, which adds ML support to portal and module settings.

Before starting the development of this extension, we tried Apollo's page localization module. We mailed a little back and forth with the project owner. The problem we had with this module was a security thing. Whenever a user has the rights to localize pages, he has a right to ALL the pages. Permissions set on individual pages don't apply anymore.

Maybe my initial post was badly formulated. I'm not trying to sell anything, I'm asking for help and suggestions. That is exactly what you did Leupold. Could you find the time to try this site for 5 mins?
