Although i am not very familiar with that module, i suppose you just install it like any other module, however i think it needs a small modification to default.aspx. You'd best contact the developer directly through his support forum on his own website.

[shameless ad] BTW, you might also be interested in my PageLocalization module, you can find more information about that here: http://www.apollo-software.nl/DotNetNuke/Modules/PageLocalization/tabid/81/Default.aspx [shameless ad]

cheers,

erik

Just install like any other PA. You don't need to modify nothing... the module takes care of any changes for you (it has an installation page to enable its features). There is no need to recompile or edit nothing.

I can give you control on many thins that normal DNN does not implement:

  • you can set the language detection order for GeoIP, browser param, querystring, user info, etc
  • You have a language selector as a Pa and as a Sin object. Both are fully customizable (A template can be defined for each language). You can make it look as you want (A sample with flags is included). You can make it to show only country names, only language, and you can chose from many TAGS to include (You can define the format)
  • It can hide pages, hide modules and customize every portal setting, every page setting and every module setting based on selected locale (so you can have two different modules, each one using a different language and make them look as one module with localization support)
  • You can assign skins and containers for each page (Normal and admin) or you can define a portal wide skin or container (normal or admin) depending of selected language. This could avoid DNN limitation to use different admin containers and skins for different pages and modules (it can be defined at module level)
  • and...... it is FREE (PA is totally free. Source code is available, but for a price)

A new version has been released a few minutes ago (01.00.12)

A new version for DNN 4 will be released this weekend.

The module has a lot of optimization functions too:

  • You can store your viewstate data in your SQL server, so your pages will load fast
  • You can use a white space remover to reduce the response size
  • You can set the preview mode as default and use a skin object to enable page edition. It is useful for intranets (all people will see data as preview mode and if they want to edit content the can press the skin object and edition will be enabled)

well, hope to help you understand what the module (or package of useful stuff) is.

Note: You can localize your content using MMLinks, it is an advanced Text module and links module mixed with template driven look. You will find it amazing
