I downloaded and installed a language pack (Spanish) and went to the portal settings and changed the default language to Spanish… after updating the settings page nothing happened, after refreshing: nothing,After loging in and out with users and host accounts: nothing. After clicking on the language flag it will change of course, but not permanently, if I choose Spanish to be the default language for that portal, I want the site to remember that for all users. For some reason it is not happening. I had no problems in the past with the same package in a different DNN installation. Help me with some ideas of what might be doing it. Thanks

Never mind, I was trying to disable a language using the Host>Languages settings, but forgot that the “disable” link was under Admin>Languages

Logged in users are always set to the preferred language in their user profile (click the user name aside logout to enter user profile).

Portal language is used for unauthenticated users only, if the language settings in their browser settings cannot be read or no associated language is enabled for the portal.
