Hi Everyone,

I had a fresh DNN 491 installation in which I created the nl-NL language packs (can be downloaded over here and here). After upgrading to DNN500 I tried to reinstall the language pack of DNN 500 RC2 but received a message telling me that the language pack had an invalid file extension. The filename is ResourcePack.Full.05.00.00.nl-NL.zip, which was created by the RC2 installation.

I looked in the event viewer but couldn't find a message about this unfortunate event. Has anyone already came across this situation?

Marc

Hi Marc,

I had no issues installing previous LPs in my local DNN5.0, when I created the German translation.

There are a number of issues with the installer and capitalization, are you sure, file extension uses all small letters?

Hi Sebastian,

Yes, the file extension is in lowercase. I double checked the allowed file extensions in the host settings to make sure that zip was there (and it is, also in lowercase).

I am going to try a clean DNN 5 instllation with the 491 languagepack and try to install the 500 RC2 languagepack on top. I let you know how it went.

Marc

k, Marc, I look forward to your results.

you may also try to use German DNN 4.9.0 package and retry for comparison.

Sebastian,

I had a fresh DNN5 install with a 491 language pack and tried to update this with the language pack of the RC2 of DNN5. There was a significant diference in the approach of installing on top over a previous languagepack because I was not prompted with the message that the language I tried to install was already present. Unfortunately this was not the end of my challenge, as you can see below (on screen error at the install screen):

Error loading files from temporary folder - see below

It seems like, even though the framework is not giving any warnings about the already existing language, it is choking on that anyway (duplicate key). If you require any further details, please let me know.

Marc
